Dual class is a lot of fun. Yes, it's stronger than single class, but it opens a ton of interesting build options and you can always increase the difficult of encounters. We tend to run APs at even level, dual class, with 3 players, or 2 players with +1 level, treating our dual class combos as +1 level.

The deeper diving includes potential archetypes to enter and there are more of dex only requirement than str only requirement as most of the str multiclasses usually require a secondary attribute.
