I am going to do a little sanding first though, from Ironwood, the wood is sanded to 150 I believe. Matt said he recommends not going above 600 or you stock looks like a "shiny table in a pizzaria." If you're getting 1.5 moa that far out, you have an exceptional FAL. even if an FAL is shooting 4-5" at 200 that is still only 2-2 1/2 inches from where you are aiming. a lot of times guys forget that a 5 inch group is only 2 1/2" from the aimpoint plenty good for the 10" vital zone on a deer. #15. These kits have high sights, early selector markings and a C1 type slotted flash hider. Germany had a number of small design changes made to the FAL rifle before they adopted what in 1956 became the G1 Fal. None of those changes are present in these rifle kits. These are not the more common G1 parts kits. #1.The SAR 48 is a nice rifle for an entry level pre ban FAL. Be careful not to get a 4800 though, that was a post import ban weapon and many have been reconfigured to pre ban form. All FN imported FALs are pre ban. Remember, the 22 Mag round was pretty new back then. Anyhow, 22lr ammo was about $0.60 a box, 22WRF ammo was about $2.25 a box (And still available most places then) and 22WMRF was around $3.50 or more. Needless to say, the rifle was NOT shot a lot, with 22WMRF but we DID shoot a fair amount of WRF in it with no problems.

You're only other practical solutions if you feel you MUST have a muzzle device are: 1) thread the existing muzzle. This ejector-block location issue has caused mags to sit too low, resulting in bolt-over-base malfunctions. Other than this issue, I am unaware of any other significant issues regarding function. two ways to make a legal semi into an illegal mg. 1.buy a SEARCUT rec. gun ($2200-$3000) knock out the semi ejector and install the full auto ejector block and safety sear. 2.mill a new semi rec. and do #1. either way is STUPID! if ya want a full auto.Oct 20, 2013.
