Ford used a cloth tape under the rear drivers door threshold. It soaks up water till the wire falls apart. Cut out the bad section, resoldier, and tape.With the connector disconnected and the key on, the PRNDL will be illuminated and the P will light up. Then jumper pin #3 (green wire) to ground and PRNDL display should go off. If grounding pin 3 turns the PRNDL off, the park detect switch is bad and the shifter will need to be replaced.
